Chiiiile… let’s have some uncomfortable tea time, because this one might sting. Everybody loves to talk about protecting their energy, but a lot of us are out here feeding our temple junk every single day and wondering why we feel so heavy, so sluggish, and so far from peace. And I’m not just talking about food, sis. I’m talking about what you consume in everysense — what you eat, what you drink, what you watch, what you listen to, what you read, who you hang around, and what you allow to sit in your spirit. You can’t fill your temple with trash and then act shocked when your spirit smells like the garbage you’ve been marinating in.

You are what you eat, physically and spiritually. If your diet is 90% fast food and 10% water, your body will show it. And if your spiritual diet is 90% gossip, messy reality shows, toxic music, and bitter conversations, your spirit will show that too. Let’s stop pretending we can binge on dysfunction all week and then expect Sunday morning worship to detox us in 45 minutes. That’s not how stewardship works. God gave you this temple to maintain daily, not just deep clean when it’s falling apart.

And here’s the truth you might not want to sip on — some of the people you “hang with” are actually just bad snacks for your spirit. They may be fun in the moment, but they leave you bloated with doubt, drained of energy, and craving more negativity. Emotional junk food feels good for a minute, but it keeps you weak. If you want your temple strong, you need nourishing conversations, uplifting environments, and relationships that actually feed your growth instead of feeding your fears.

Sis, protecting your temple doesn’t make you “bougie” or “too much” — it makes you wise. You’re allowed to be selective. You’re allowed to change your diet — physically and spiritually — so you can be healthy from the inside out. The next time you’re tempted to feed yourself something that doesn’t align with your purpose, ask yourself: “Does this strengthen my temple or does it slowly tear it down?” Your answer will tell you exactly what needs to change.

✍🏾 Journal Prompt:

  • What am I consuming daily (food, media, conversations) that is feeding my temple?
  • What am I consuming that is draining or damaging it?
  • What is one thing I can remove from my diet — physically or spiritually — starting today?

💛 Affirmation:

I am intentional about what I consume.
Everything I feed my mind, body, and spirit aligns with my purpose.
I am worthy of nourishment that strengthens my temple.

🙏🏾 Prayer:

Father, thank You for the wisdom to see that everything I consume affects my temple. Give me discernment to choose what strengthens me over what weakens me. Remove my desire for things, people, and habits that feed my destruction instead of my growth. Fill my temple with what nourishes my body, mind, and spirit so I can walk in health, peace, and purpose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
