Chiiiile… waiting will test you in ways you didn’t even know you could be tested. We love the idea of greater. We love the sound of new seasons. But nobody wants to talk about the waiting period — that in-between season where God has shown you the promise but hasn’t yet handed you the keys. And let me keep it real: waiting is hard because it feels like silence. It feels like delay. It feels like maybe God forgot. But hear me clearly — waiting is not punishment. Waiting is preparation.

Think about it like this: if God gave you everything you prayed for right now, could you handle it? Could you steward it? Could you carry the weight that comes with it? Most of us would have to admit… not yet. And that’s the point of waiting. It’s not to deny you — it’s to prepare you. The waiting season is where God sharpens your character, builds your discipline, and teaches you to lean on Him instead of your own strength.

The danger is, many of us waste our waiting. We complain, we compare, we get restless. We keep peeking at everybody else’s timeline wondering, “Why not me yet, Lord?” But while you’re busy envying someone else’s harvest, you’re neglecting to tend your own soil. Preparation in the waiting means you pray consistently, you fast with intention, you refine your habits, and you learn the lessons now so you’re not scrambling when greater shows up.

Sis, don’t despise the waiting room. God is doing more in that season than you realize. Every “not yet” is an opportunity for growth. Every closed door is a training exercise. Every delay is divine preparation. And when the time comes, you won’t just walk into greater — you’ll be ready to sustain it. Because it’s one thing to receive the blessing; it’s another to keep it. Preparation makes sure you can do both.

✍🏾 Journal Prompt:

  • What season of waiting am I currently in, and how do I feel about it?
  • What disciplines or habits can I build right now to prepare for my greater season?
  • How can I shift my perspective from frustration in waiting to preparation in waiting?

💛 Affirmation:

My waiting is not wasted.
God is preparing me for greater, and I choose to use this season to grow.
I am disciplined, focused, and ready for what’s ahead.

🙏🏾 Prayer:

Father, thank You for reminding me that my waiting is not wasted. Help me to see this season not as punishment, but as preparation. Give me the discipline to pray, fast, and grow while I wait. Strengthen my patience, refine my character, and prepare my heart for the greater You’ve called me to. Let me walk into the new season not only blessed, but ready to sustain the blessing. In Jesus’ name, amen.
